Tools for an efficient remote working!

In a very short time, teleworking, ie working from home, has been developed at an explosive pace all over the world. Companies are making a big effort to align their procedures with government measures to prevent the further spread of the corona virus pandemic but also to remain productive. And on the other hand, the majority of workers have turned their home into an office and are trying to adapt to a whole new reality.

As it turned out, some companies already had the tools needed for teleworking, even if they had not used them on such a large scale until now. Many other, smaller and medium-sized businesses, on the other hand, proved unprepared. They were so unprepared that they occasionally sent home their workers along with the office equipment and desktops in order to work from home.

These special circumstances and the fact that many companies were unprepared are the main reasons why orders from corporate customers for the necessary equipment have skyrocketed in just a short time. According to insider.gr, market players, laptops, video conferencing systems and the necessary software have recently recorded a similar demand in the B2B market to that of toilet paper, antiseptics and spaghetti in supermarkets.

In fact, many of the technological tools that offer solutions to support professional activity – such as teleworking platforms, telemedicine platforms, distance education applications, etc. – are offered free of charge, in an effort by technology companies to help curb pandemic transmission.

Fortunately for us, there are now many easy-to-use platforms and applications that help us stay organized and productive, working from the couch, the bed, the desk, the kitchen or even our garden.

It also offers 10GB of group file storage plus 2GB per person for personal storage, as well as integrated real-time content creation with Office applications – such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

A meeting can be attended by up to 100 people, however (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) Microsoft has extended this limit to 300 participants, until recently.

Anyone with any corporate or private email address can sign up for Teams today, and those who do not already have a paid Microsoft 365 subscription will have access to the free version of Teams. Finally, Microsoft Teams is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, Android and Web.

The software adjusts its performance according to the speed of the network, ensuring high quality video calls, wherever you are. New enhancements via Artificial Intelligence (AI) ensure call clarity, even when ambient conditions are not ideal. Finally, Google Meet is available for Android, iOS and Web.
